And POOF, you're almost a whole YEAR old. :::Sniff, Sniff:::

It's always around the 10 month mark it seems like I feel like my babies are just not babies anymore. First birthday party plans start dancing in my head, although nobody has had a really "big" first birthday since Jack. It's not for lack of ideas; just sheer lack of planning, procrastination, and execution - aka, laziness on mommy's part.

You're not nursing as often and could probably care less if you skipped a meal - you know, in exchange for something tastier. :::Sigh::: I suppose this should make things easier to get up and go, and truth be told, it already has. No more nursing sessions during therapy. No more screaming baby in the back seat during the drive home from picking Jack up from school. No more having to be home 10 minutes ago when you went from 0 to 60 before bedtime when I am working. Sure, you still kinda need me, but it's nothing a puff or 50 can't satisfy for the time being.

My darling - since your last monthly update, you have crossed another HUGE milestone in the low-tone milestone department. You can GET to a sit on your very own. Phew! I have it on video. It ain't pretty but it's awesome. And it may have taken 10 months, but we're rolling with it. And you know what ELSE you can do if you see something super fantastic across the room? SCOOCH! As Jack and Ella call it, you do the "booty scooch." Yes, I do believe our hard floors have helped your plea, but hey - whatever. I'm thrilled that "nothing is sacred" in our living room anymore. This mommma doesn't take any physical milestone for granted anymore and will accept a messy living room with open arms. Okay, well only if you make the mess....the other messes just don't seem quite as, um, awesome.

You're still a big fan of the F-word. Food. Yes, you pretty much devour anything and everything we put on your plate. Meatballs were a hit the other night. Chicken & broccoli were just as rad. And you prefer your food chunky, human food style, rather than all blended up in the baby food mill. Miss Independent. And I just recently discovered that crackers are no match for you. Bear with me as I get over my cautiousness with large food items. You have your sister to thank for that. So far your only food dislikes are baby food carrots and baby food green beans. You even snarf down black beans like no tomorrow, and while you may make a bitter beer face when eating chunks of avocado, but you still eat them.

I may send Ellen a video of you dancing because you sure like to jam out girl!! You're also an excellent hugger - putting your head on our shoulders and sometimes even patting us on the back when you hug. Just melts your daddy's heart. Could you ask him for a brand-spankin' new mini-van for us mommy while you do that next time, please?

Love you baby girl - to the moon and back.

I adore that you are still doing weekly photos! You are the best mom ever. Seriously.

She is SO beautiful. awwww.

My sweet baby loves her food too. I love that I don't have to spoon feed her. I am too lazy. ha!
